About Our Farm

A New Chapter for Kapristo Farms

After three wonderful years of serving the community with fresh, locally grown food—and plenty of tomatoes—a situation has arisen that requires us to make a significant change. We are now in the position of needing to sell everything and move forward to explore what else life has in store for us.

We are deeply grateful for the support and connections we’ve made over the years and look forward to what the future holds. Thank you for being a part of our journey.

What We Do

We Grow

We grow organic veggies in combination with our
four-season greenhouse, hoop tunnels,
and in the field.

We Raise

Rabbits and ducks are both raised and contribute to the farm. From meat, eggs, fertilizer, pesticide and more.

We Learn

We strive to continually research and learn new methods and processes to improve and teach efficient ways of close-loop organic farming.

Our Primary Goals

Sustainability

It’s our goal to build our farm using sustainable farming practices that nurture our animals’ welfare, the health of the land and the quality of our food. In combination with applying permaculture techniques we use local resources to improve our soil, create bio-diversity, lower our overall costs and reduce shipping materials in.

Less Packaging

Enough plastic already! No more single use anything! We feel strongly about reducing the packaging of food and the products we use. There is lots of plastic in small farming and we intend to think outside the (plastic) box and reduce packaging waste wherever possible.

Support our Local Community

It takes a community to thrive! We want to help build a more resilient anti-fragile community. By localizing our resources we will become self-reliant and will reduce our ecological footprint.
